The story of Canello Fabrics
The Canello fabrics store started as a classic shop with men's fabrics in the 30's, by Efstathios Kanellopoulos and brings the glamor of old Athens. It was a passage and hangout for all the great personalities of the time, from Angelos Sikelianos and Kostis Palamas to Spyros Melas, while he was also a supplier of the palaces. Packed with high quality British fabrics such as mohair, cool wool, tweed, camel hair and special gabardines, it was a favorite destination for lovers of tailored suits.
In the 70's the store changes character as gradually in addition to the refined fabrics which were mostly chosen by the male audience for suits, blazers and coats, women's fabrics also began to be sold. Fine silks, crepes as well as the special prints of the legendary house of Liberty of London, which star in the store until today, began to attract the female audience, which, in addition to the wonderful fabrics, could now choose Pret a Porter de Luxe pieces either imported or sewn from the Canello studio - which was created at that time by the three daughters of Efstathios Kanellopoulos.
Today the store still houses a huge variety of the finest women's and men's fabrics with special emphasis on the unique prints of Liberty of London, ready-made women's clothing, while there is also the possibility for custom dresses and skirts.
The Kanellopoulos Store has been a favorite stop for almost a century for those who appreciate quality and classic elegance in a well-tailored garment.

My love for fashion has always been inside me and for that my family tradition is responsible. You see, my memories are all taken from the store of our family business, which is about 90 years old, in the center of Athens. It is one of the first fabric stores of the center (named Kanellopoulos), which has a huge variety of 100% British vintage fabrics of all kinds, with the trademark of the world-famous Liberty of London fabrics. Along with the fabric and ready-made clothing store, my mother and her two sisters had also opened a haute couture house, which operated in the 70s, 80s and until the mid-90s.
Growing up among fashion sketches, quality fabrics, watching the creation of clothes very closely and traveling many times with my family to fashion shows abroad, I loved the beautiful aesthetics, the good quality and the timeless value of the fashion classic.
